Skeletal denture is one of the types of removable teeth dentures, representing a removable orthopedic construction, where pressure is distributed both on supporting teeth and on mucosa. The skeletal construction is composed of a light metallic arch, which allows using for support both gums and natural teeth. The skeletal denture is compact, is comfortable, lasting and solid.

The advantages of skeletal dentures are: little pressure on gums and distribution of the rest of pressure on healthy teeth; such dentures do not cover the palate, this is why it is easy to get used to them faster; skeletal dentures are aesthetic, firm, lasting and comfortable to use. The disadvantage of skeletal denture is that it can’t be done when all teeth are absent, and it is necessary to prepare and place them under the crown of supporting teeth. These disadvantages are not available for implant dentures.

Skeletal denture is a better alternative for the removable plastic denture. It may be used when in a certain clinical case it is impossible to prepare unremovable bridge dentures.

The care of skeletal dentures is simple enough. It is necessary to clean denture in the morning and in the evening. You can also leave it for the nighttime, which is of course very comfortable from psychological point of view.
