Teeth splinting

Splinting – one of the methods used to treat periodontium diseases, which allows reducing the probability of teeth falling out (pulling out).

The main recommendation for splinting in orthopedic practice is the presence of pathological mobility of teeth.

Positive effects of splinting include the following moments:

• Splint reduces teeth mobility. The hard construction of splints doesn’t allow teeth to get loose and therefore reduces the probable further increase of amplitude of teeth oscillations and their falling out.
• Efficiency of splints depends on the number of teeth. The more teeth there are the best is the effect of splinting.

Splinting redistributes the load on teeth. The main load during mastication will befall to healthy teeth.
